Real Madrid have been reportedly offered a chance to sign Lyon star Nabil Fekir, who is a January target for Premier League giants Chelsea.

In a weird turn of events, Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Nabil Fekir in January, according to Spanish publication Marca. Chelsea are believed to be in talks with Lyon to sign the Frenchman as well, with other clubs like Barcelona also keeping a keen eye on developments.

Nabil Fekir came close to moving to the Premier League in the summer, with Liverpool and Lyon agreeing everything. But, the Frenchman reportedly failed his medical and the move henceforth, broke down. Fekir though, has forgotten the botched move, helping Lyon on the field with the same vigour as before.

With 7 goals and 4 assists in all competitions so far, the interest in his services is starting to pick up once again. Chelsea have been looking to bring the Frenchman in. But, the report of Real Madrid being offered his services could prove to be a dent in their intentions.

Chelsea have seen their attacking options fail to deliver in front of goal, with everyone except Eden Hazard not really stepping up lately. The result has been a downturn in goals compared to early season, which has seen the Blues drop the ball twice now, the latest being a 1-0 defeat to Leicester City.

To pump up the creativity and to add goals in attack, Fekir is being sought as a potent addition to the Chelsea squad.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have been doing well under Santiago Solari. But, there are few players who have lost their status under the new manager.

Isco is one of them and with the playmaker likely to leave the club, president Florentino Perez is looking to bring in not just a replacement but a star who can solve the problems of a lack of goal, which has been plaguing the club since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

One of the main reasons for Fekir being reportedly offered to Real Madrid is Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas and his desperation to cash in on the Frenchman. Fekir has refused to sign an extension on his current deal, which is set to expire in 2020.

Chelsea look more desperate to add to their squad, though, and could move in quickly for Fekir. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are likely to wait to see if Isco does depart in January before converting their interest in Fekir into a genuine offer.
