Anthony Martial is reportedly set to snub Juventus, Bayern Munich and PSG to remain at Manchester United, where he is enjoying a stunning turnaround
According to a report by ESPN, Anthony Martial is willing his stint at Manchester United, who are eager to tie him down to a new long-term deal. The Frenchman is the subject of interest from European heavyweights like Juventus, Bayern Munich and PSG.
The roller coaster ride that is Anthony Martial’s stint at Manchester United has continued in full swing at the onset of the 2018-19 season. In the lead-up to the campaign, there were reports of a breakdown in his relationship with Jose Mourinho, as well as suggestions that the player could possibly depart from Old Trafford, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus interested.
But, Martial has evidently gone on to turn his career around and win back Mourinho’s faith. So much so, that he has usurped Alexis Sanchez to become a regular once again. However, reports of an impending exit from Manchester United in favour of a move to Juventus have still been running rampant, with the Frenchman’s contract at the club running out next summer.
While Manchester United are expected to trigger a one-year option to preserve his value, they have been keen on reaching an agreement over a new five-year deal as well. But, those prospects have not been helped by the constant links with Juventus.
The Bianconeri have had they sights firmly set on Martial for some time now, with his uncertain position at Manchester United thus far only solidifying their position. Their interest in the 22-year-old makes a lot of sense as well, with Mario Mandzukic on the wrong side of 30.
Additionally, the possibility of signing a player of Martial’s calibre in a low-money deal is too attractive to spurn as well. But, Juventus are now set to be dealt a major blow in pursuit of the French international, who is firmly committed to Manchester United.
The player recently indicated that all is well between him and Mourinho, and is even inching closer to putting pen to paper on the aforementioned renewal, which will hike his wages to around £160,0000-a-week, as per widespread reports.
The uncertainties thus, seem to be a thing of the past, with Anthony Martial ready to prolong his stay at Manchester United, thereby snubbing Juventus, Bayern Munich and several other suitors.
