Manchester United academy graduate Marcus Rashford has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Italian champions Juventus.

As per a report from The Sun, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is being lined up for a sensational summer move by current Serie A title holders Juventus.

Rashford has been tipped for great things ever since he burst onto the first-team scenes at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal during the 2015-16 campaign. Despite being only 20 years old, the Englishman has already racked up 130 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 33 goals and setting up 17 more, winning an FA Cup, a League Cup and the UEFA Europa League trophy.

The 2018-19 campaign hasn’t started on the best of the notes for the 20-year-old however, as he has managed to score a solitary goal in seven appearances across all competitions, having been guilty of missing several gilt-edged chances so far in the season.

Rashford’s slow start to the season has attracted a lot of negative press of late, but the striker was on fire during the recently concluded international break, scoring and assisting a goal apiece as England beat Spain 3-2 in the UEFA Nations League.

Following his exploits on the international scene, Juventus have decided to make a move for the 20-year-old prodigy, who is reportedly valued at £65 million.

The Bianconeri have previously raided Manchester United, when they signed Paul Pogba on a free transfer back in 2012 and believe that Rashford will also be a huge success in Turin, just like the Frenchman was.

Juventus already have a star-studded attack comprising of former Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentine sensation Paulo Dybala, along with the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi in their ranks.

However, with both Ronaldo and Mandzukic in their thirties and Dybala reportedly keen on making a switch to Real Madrid, a new addition to the attacking contingent over the summer wouldn’t be the worst idea for Juve.

Rashford will be entering the final twelve months of his contract at the end of the season, although Manchester United have the option of extending it by another year. There were talks of a new deal for the Englishman in the summer, but there seems to have been little development on that front.

There is no question over the talent and the potential that Rashford possesses, but his hardships under Jose Mourinho have led to experts opining that the striker might have to leave Manchester United in order to truly blossom. However, the 20-year-old is held in very high regard at Manchester United and it is highly unlikely that the club would be willing to offload the prodigy anytime soon.
