Manchester United have reportedly slapped a £200 million price tag on Paul Pogba, who is being targeted by Barcelona for a move next summer.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Manchester United have named their price to part ways with Paul Pogba. The Premier League heavyweights will demand £200 million for the French midfielder, who is the subject of interest from Barcelona.

Things are going from bad to worse for Pogba at Manchester United. While there has been uncertainty surrounding his position at the Premier League outfit for a few months now, the point of no return seems to be fast approaching for both parties.

The relationship between Jose Mourinho and Pogba has completely soured after the Manchester United boss stripped him of the club’s vice-captaincy. The 25-year-old now reportedly intends to depart from Old Trafford, which is set to provide a major boost to Barcelona.

Barcelona’s interest in Pogba is well documented by now. The La Liga champions even lodged a shock bid to swoop the Frenchman away from Manchester United this past summer, only for the offer to be knocked back swiftly.

Ernesto Valverde is eager to create a core group of players that will ensure smooth transition into the long-term future, and Pogba fits the bill. And, Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their efforts to snap up the Premier League superstar, with widespread reports suggesting that they will scout him at every game he plays this season.

In the current situation he finds himself in, Pogba looks likely to force through a move away from Old Trafford and Premier League football. But, with the Barcelona target still having three years left on his current deal, Manchester United hold the aces as far as his valuation is concerned.

And, the Premier League heavyweights plan to recoup more than double the amount they paid for him in the summer of 2016. Manchester United have slapped a £200 million price tag on the 2018 World Cup winner, although it remains to be seen if Barcelona would be willing to part with a club record transfer fee.

Paul Pogba’s stint at Manchester United appears to be coming to an end, particularly after the latest setback in his relationship with Jose Mourinho. As of now, Barcelona are the favourites to sign the 25-year-old, but the £200 million price tag could pose a few problems for them, possibly bringing other suitors into the fray.
