Mohamed Salah is reportedly open to a move away from Liverpool next summer, with Barcelona interested in securing his services.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Don Balon, Mohamed Salah is exploring the possibility of taking the next big step in his career next summer. The Liverpool superstar is eyeing a move to Barcelona, who are also interested in bolstering their attack by landing him.

Salah has taken the Premier League by storm since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. The Egyptian took little time to become the Reds’ talisman last season, not just ending the campaign as their top scorer but also winning the Golden Boot in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has been a little rusty at the start of the season. But, the fact that he still boasts a return of two goals and as many assists in four games so far only bodes well for Liverpool, who look primed to challenge on all four fronts this term. However, with growing reputation, Salah has also attracted attention towards himself, with Barcelona showing interest.

The Blaugrana have been monitoring Salah’s progress pretty much since the time he joined Liverpool last year, and are now believed to be seriously considering a move. The continued interest does come as a bit of a surprise considering Barcelona only reinforced their wide options this past summer by signing Malcom.

But, the Brazilian is considered one for the future, and the fact that Ousmane Dembele still has his Camp Nou future up in the air is keeping Barcelona on their toes. Salah is, thus, a viable target whose ability to play across the front three makes him an attractive option.

Barcelona are now set to receive another major boost seeing as, just as the report suggests, Salah is open to leaving Liverpool to make his way to Camp Nou. The Egyptian international reckons the move to the La Liga champions is the next logical step in his career, and the prospect of playing alongside Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi is an appealing one.

However, swooping Salah away from Premier League football could be a tall order for Barcelona, considering he still has almost five years remaining on his current deal with Liverpool. And so, if the Blaugrana do come calling next summer, Liverpool could ask for a world record sum to part ways with their prized asset.

What must also be considered is that selling Salah is not a foregone conclusion if Liverpool are to prove their title winning credentials over the course of the season. A nervous summer beckons for the Reds, with Barcelona keeping a close eye on their talisman. For now though, Salah remains a player who has Premier League fans going gaga over his talents.
