Barcelona are reportedly interested in Tottenham superstar Harry Kane and are considering the Real Madrid target as a replacement for Luis Suarez.

According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Barcelona might spring up a surprise in their search for a replacement for Luis Suarez. The report indicates that Tottenham superstar Harry Kane, who has been on the radar of Real Madrid for a while, is topping the shortlist of options to replace the Uruguayan.

Harry Kane’s rise has been majestic and magnetic at the same time. While no one expected the Tottenham star to produce such an exhilarating upward arc, the very thing has drawn admirers towards him. Kane is now not just a striker but the hope of England.

Kane has already taken one step towards greatness by grabbing the Golden Boot award at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The English international has always been tipped to make a big-money move away from Tottenham. But, despite interest from several top clubs, Real Madrid included, Kane has opted to stay at Spurs for the time being.

Real Madrid are without a natural goalscorer, especially of the pedigree of Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Portuguese’s decision to join Juventus. Karim Benzema has upped his form by the looks of it while Gareth Bale has also taken it upon himself to compensate for Ronaldo’s goals. But, a forward is still needed, with Karim Benzema already 30.

Barcelona on the other hand, have their own issues at hand, with Luis Suarez not really hitting top form thus far. The Uruguayan is already nearing 32 and will need replacing soon. While many names came up as potential replacements for the striker, none of them are nearly as convincing in terms of quality as Harry Kane.

Both the clubs will be aware that heavy investment will be needed in order to convince Tottenham to give up Harry Kane. Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and will try to rake in as much as possible from his sale, if not price Barcelona, Real Madrid and all other potential suitors out of a move.

We can expect Harry Kane to move in the summer of 2019. A January move is highly unlikely since he will not be eligible to represent
