Manchester United are reportedly interested in SL Benfica star Ronaldo Camara, who is also a target for Chelsea, Barcelona and other top clubs.

If the report from The Mirror is to be believed, Manchester United are tracking Ronaldo. Not the former United star who has just joined Juventus but the SL Benfica prodigy Ronaldo Camara. The youngster is also a target for the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City.

Ronaldo Camara is just 15. But, that has not stopped people from hailing the youngster as the next Ronaldo, not just from the name. The player started his career at the same club Cristiano did, at Sporting Lisbon. But, the attacking midfielder decided to join rivals SL Benfica in 2015.

All of 15, the player’s name is already gaining traction. The player made his Under-17 Portugal debut at the mere age of 14 and was reportedly a part of SL Benfica’s squad for the ALKASS International Cup in January, 2018, a competition where almost all the other players were a couple of years older than him.

The player is eligible to represent Portugal or Guinea at the international level, but has chosen to play for Portugal up until the Under-17 level thus far. It is naturally evident for the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona to be interested in the 15-year-old.

Barcelona were thought to be one of the clubs that pursued Cristiano Ronaldo when he was young. In fact, before his move to Real Madrid, there was a time where rumours of Barcelona being interested came out. Naturally, Barcelona want to lay down the succession line and their La Masia setup needs strengthening, with all the recent departures.

Chelsea and Manchester City are obviously interested. The duo have been scouring for top European talents and have managed to create a reputation for themselves as collectors of young prodigious prospects.

Manchester United’s interest is given, with the club always on the lookout for the next Ronaldo. Although, which club isn’t? The Red Devils have been undertaking a rigorous youth recruitment policy over the last couple of years. The policy has started to pay dividends, with the likes of Nishan Burkart, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong headlining the talent pool that has been promoted to the Under-23 side.

While the interest is good news for Ronaldo Camara and his camp, the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona will be keeping a close track of the talented youngster’s development for now, and nothing more. Should the 15-year-old show imminent signs of prodigious talent on a regular basis though, one or more of the clubs should come swooping in.
