Paul Pogba reportedly wants to stay at Manchester United amid interest from Barcelona over a possible big-money move this summer.

According to a report by French outlet RMC Sport, Paul Pogba has no desire to leave Manchester United, despite widespread reports linking him with a departure from Old Trafford. The French international is the subject of interest from Barcelona over a possible big-money move this summer.

Pogba’s second coming at Manchester United has been nothing short of a mixed bag. While he has been a pivotal player for the club for the most part, there have also been times when he has frustrated due to his inconsistencies, while also clashing with Jose Mourinho on a few occasions.

In the aftermath of France’s World Cup triumph, where he was one of their key players, Pogba’s future at Manchester United has been called into question. There have been reports that the player wants to leave the club this summer, with Barcelona a possible destination.

In fact, several reports have even suggested that Pogba has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, with the transfer fee the only bone of contention. The interest from the Blaugrana in the Manchester United superstar though, comes as a bit of a surprise, considering midfield is one area where Ernesto Valverde is stacked with options.

In fact, despite the departure of Andre Gomes, the Barcelona manager still has as many as seven midfielders at his disposal, meaning the pursuit of Pogba does not make a great deal of sense. But, there were certain reports that even suggested that a shock bid had been lodged to swoop him away from Manchester United.

But, if the report by RMC Sport is anything to go by, Pogba has no desire to leave Manchester United this summer, which would be a big blow to Barcelona. In fact, the Frenchman is not even seeking improved terms at Old Trafford, with Mino Raiola seemingly trying to unsettle the relationship between the two parties by offering his client to other clubs.

Pogba’s performance against Leicester City in Manchester United’s season opener was also a big statement by the player himself, with the outing being followed by a social media post that seemed to be pointing towards his commitment to the club.

All in all, it looks like Pogba is headed nowhere this summer, with his sole focus being performing to the best of his potential for Manchester United. Barcelona, on the other hand, will need to set their sights elsewhere if they are to bolster their midfield further this summer.
