Arsenal face an uncertain time with regards to Aaron Ramsey’s future, but Former Tottenham star Jamie Redknapp feels the Welshman will remain a Gunner.

Arsenal fans will be delighted to read what Jamie Redknapp has to say about the future of Aaron Ramsey. The Daily Star runs a story on Jamie Redknapp’s views on the Welsh midfielder as the former Tottenham star feels Ramsey would end up staying at the Gunners and prolong his career at the Emirates.

Arsenal are currently sitting on one of their best transfer windows in years, after shrewdly making necessary additions to their squad and look all set for the season without any uncertainty. Only as things cooled down a bit, did the Aaron Ramsey saga begin, with the Welshman yet to sign the new deal Arsenal have presented him.

Realising that, rival clubs began circling the Welshman, with Chelsea being the latest one, reportedly readying late a £35 million bid. But Ramsey has given no indication on the new deal, neither has he any given any of a reported move away from Arsenal.

With the Welshman himself confirming that the club and his representatives are in negotiations regarding the new deal, Jamie Redknapp has poured cold water on Chelsea and Liverpool’s hope of signing the midfielder. Redknapp feels, Ramsey belongs at Arsenal and went on to suggest that he could be their Frank Lampard in the coming years.

Redknapp also emphasised on Unai Emery’s presence at the club and felt that Arsenal and its players finally have defined roles, something that they lacked for the last few seasons under Arsene Wenger. Additionally, the former Tottenham midfielder feels Ramsey could flourish under Emery’s guidance, given he signs a new deal.

Apart from Chelsea, Ramsey has been courted by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona, with the Merseysiders also believed to be lining up a late bid for the Welshman. If he is to move to another rival, especially in the Premier League, it will come as a big blow for Arsenal and their ambitions for the coming season.

Ramsey’s future is expected to be clear in the coming days, especially with the transfer deadline looming closer. Arsenal, on the other hand, are believed to be open to selling Ramsey if he refuses to sign a new deal. This is because the club feels they could get good money for a player in his last year and do not want to lose him on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Arsenal fans are eager for the club to bring a close to this burgeoning saga, and wants the team, Ramsey included focusing on the season ahead. They don’t want another controversy, something that they’ve been treated to in the last couple of seasons, especially ahead of Arsenal’s big season opener against Manchester City.
