Maurizio Sarri is reportedly not happy with Willian’s situation at the club and intends to hold talks with the player after he failed to return to training on time.

According to a report published by the SkySports, Maurizio Sarri is not pleased with Willian’s status at the club after the Brazilian international did not report to the club on time. Hence, the newly appointed manager plans to do crunch talks with him.

Willian has been a pivotal figure at the West London club ever since he arrived in 2013. The 29-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with several clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona. But, Chelsea rejected all the offers proposed for him.

The Brazilian international went on a vacation after his national team crashed out in the World Cup against Belgium in the quarter-finals round, while his teammates are on a pre-season tour. The Chelsea superstar was supposed to return to Cobham training centre last week but failed to reach on time.

Although, the report claims that the player was experiencing his passport related problems and the club officials gave him prior permission to return late. However, new manager Sarri showed his dissent after knowing the situation.

“I want to speak to him before I answer these questions”. He said after a penalty-shoot-out defeat to Arsenal in the International Champions Cup. “I don’t know. I am not happy about the situation, but I would like to talk to him,” he further added.

Presently, many prominent players in the Chelsea roster are looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, following the Blues ended their last campaign with a disappointing 5th placed finish in Premier League. Therefore, Willian is one of several Chelsea players linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The Brazilian international is heavily linked with several European giants, including Chelsea’s direct rivals Manchester United. Jose Mourinho has been yearning for an able right-sided winger who will fit into his job description of a pacy, hardworking wide man.

The 29-year-old played some of his best football under the management of Mourinho during his second stint at Chelsea. With Manchester United in desperate need of a pacy outlet on the right flank. Thus, Willian could be a viable short-term solution.

However, Sarri indicated his urge to convince Willian to stay at the club as he revealed, “We are talking about top players, and I think every club wants to keep top players.”

This hints that Chelsea intend to bolster up their squad ahead of the upcoming season and not to repeat their exhibits of last season by deteriorating the team.

It is likely that Sarri wants to instil discipline into the team before the new season begins. Adding to it, the Italian would probably share his ideas with Willian in order to make him feel required, since the player seems to be a significant figure of Sarri’s plans in future.
