Juventus could brace themselves for yet another Chelsea raid as Miralem Pjanic has been identified as the new target for the Premier League giants.

Chelsea could pursue Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to a shocking claim from Alfredo Pedulla. And the Sun believes that the Italian journalist has added the Bosnian superstar into the list of Maurizio Sarri’s desired transfer targets this summer as he aims to bolster his side’s midfield department before the start of the new campaign.

It is understood that Pjanic enjoyed dinner in Milan on Wednesday with his new agent Feli Ramadani, who has strong ties with the Premier League outfit.

Ramadani was the brains behind Sarri’s move to West London and as per sources, the Macedonian agent had a meeting with Pjanic thereof, in which the possibility of a move to West London was reportedly mentioned.

In fact, the midfielder, himself, refused to answer any question when the Italian media approached just outside the restaurant, ultimately fueling speculation regarding a potential move away from Turin this summer.

Pjanic, 28, is regarded as one of most gifted midfielders in the Serie A, if not the whole of Europe. After initially impressing with AS Roma, the midfielder enjoyed unprecedented success since moving to Juventus in the summer of 2016.

During his two-year spell with the Bianconeri, the Bosnian international has featured in over 90 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals while providing 25 assists. The 28-year-old has built a formidable midfield partnership alongside the likes of Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi, ultimately helping the Serie A giants secure two back to back doubles since 2016.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are running a bit shallow as far as their midfield department is concerned. As new coach Sarri iterated during a news conference, there is “a pinch of quality lacking in midfield”, which could force Roman Abramovich to land on the Italian’s favoured transfer targets this summer.

The Blues have already secured the services of Napoli’s midfield lynchpin Jorginho last week. Having said that, the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko haven’t been able to play to their potential in the past 12 months.

Additionally, last summer signing Danny Drinkwater’s debut campaign with Chelsea was marred with injuries, leaving Jorginho and N’Golo as the only reliable option for Sarri in midfield next season. Thus, Miralem Pjanic is definitely a viable target for the West-London giants this summer.

On the flip side, the Bosnian international is sure to cost them a fortune bearing in mind that the player still has a three-year contract with the Juve and as iterated earlier, he is among the best midfielders in Europe. Furthermore, Chelsea aren’t the only ones interested in his services with Manchester City and Barcelona also making waves.

Therefore, securing the signature of Pjanic is certainly seems like a far-fetched analogy for the Premier League giants at the moment, when compared to his teammates in Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani, both of whom could soon don the Blue of Chelsea next season.
