Manchester United face fresh competition from Chinese clubs in pursuit of Anderson Talisca, who is set to leave Benfica this summer.

Premier League giants Manchester United have been long linked with a move for Anderson Talisca. The Benfica attacker has also attracted the interest of several top clubs around Europe as he readies himself for a big money move this summer.

Turkish journalist Firat Gunayar previously claimed that the Brazilian sensation, who was on loan to Besiktas for the last couple of years, could be heading to Old Trafford in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, according to latest reports from Portuguese daily sports newspaper, O Jogo, the Red Devils could face fresh competition from two Chinese clubs, who insist on anonymity as of now.

Both the Chinese Super League outfits are said to have matched Manchester United’s €40m bid for Anderson Talisca. The representatives of the player have reportedly been in Lisbon for the past few days, waiting for Besiktas’ final confirmation regarding Talisca’s future with the club. The Turkish giants have the option to sign the Benfica attacker on a permanent basis, for a fee of just €21m.

While it seems likely that the Black Eagles could take up the option to permanently secure the services of Anderson Talisca just to sell him for a higher profit this summer, Manchester United might have to raise their bid if they are to sign the Brazilian sensation.

Meanwhile, Talisca himself will definitely face a dilemma when it comes to choosing his next destination this summer. Even though it’s clear that the accolade of joining a club as big as Manchester United is far greater when compared to their Chinese counterparts, it’s also fair to point out that moving to China could potentially hand a far greater payday.
