Chelsea, PSG and a few other clubs have been linked with Rodrigo Moreno, who reportedly has no intention to leave La Liga outfit Valencia.

Spanish publication Don Balon are speculating that Rodrigo Moreno is attracting a lot of interest from the top brass of European football. The likes of Chelsea, PSG and Atletico Madrid have been named to be keen to lure the Spanish international away from Valencia in the summer.

According to the report though, Rodrigo Moreno is unwilling to part ways with Valencia and is keen to continue leading the attack at the Mestalla. The Spanish international is prepared to reject all overtures from the likes of Chelsea, PSG and Atletico Madrid in order to continue his tryst with Valencia.

Rodrigo Moreno was once a part of Real Madrid’s Castilla setup. And the player returned to La Liga, with Valencia snapping the player up from Benfica in a relatively big-money deal in the summer of 2015. Over the course of three seasons, Rodrigo has established himself as an able attacker.

But, the 2017-18 season was where he really came into his own as added responsibility fell on his shoulders following the departure of Paco Alcacer in the summer of 2016. 16 goals and 7 assists in the league alone, Rodrigo led Valencia’s attack with aplomb as the club returned to the top echelons finishing fourth and securing European football for the upcoming season.

Rodrigo’s form has seen him being preferred by Julen Lopetegui for the World Cup, with the player beating Alvaro Morata en route to being included in the 23-man squad. His form has also brought forth interest from several top clubs, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Atletico Madrid all linked with the 27-year-old.

Chelsea do have Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud as their striking options going into the 2017-18 season. But, the former has flattered to deceive while the latter is deemed good enough only to act as the cover. Indeed, Chelsea will need a potent striker to represent them up top as they bid to regain their status among the top brass of the Premier League and aim to return to the Champions League as well.

Rodrigo could be an interesting option, with the player likely to be tempted by the prospect of moving to a league as illustrious as the Premier League. But, with Antoine Griezmann likely to leave Atletico Madrid and the club scouring for replacements, Rodrigo could also be looking at a step up the ladder in the league he has grown to be comfortable in while also not sacrificing any game time.

But, according to the report, Rodrigo wants to stay put at Valencia, especially after leading them to European football and a fourth-placed finish in the league after years of disappointment. The news will come as a huge blow to the likes of Chelsea, PSG and others who intended to land the 27-year-old.

But, with the player set to feature for Spain in the World Cup, a good campaign in Russia might heighten his ambitions and change his stance over a potential transfer away from Valencia.
