Jack Grealish could be set to enjoy Premier League football despite Aston Villa’s failure to beat Fulham, with Manchester United interested in the youngster.

According to The Sun, Manchester United’s search for addition to their options on the wing has led them closer to home, with Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish emerging as a surprise summer target for the Red Devils.

Jack Grealish has always been touted as a talent to watch out for at Aston Villa. But, the 2017-18 campaign under Steve Bruce is where the academy graduate impressed with his consistency despite a modest return. Villa came close to securing a return to the Premier League by reaching the playoff finals, only to lose 1-0 to Fulham and be condemned for another year of Championship football.

Grealish though, has managed to earn admirers through his consistent displays, with several Premier League clubs looking to bring the Englishman over to the top flight. None though, come bigger than Manchester United, with the Red Devils propping up as a potential destination for the Aston Villa starlet.

At Manchester United, the need to add to the attacking options, especially out wide, has been paramount for a season and Jose Mourinho is looking to address the situation this summer. While a move for Willian is being lined up, Manchester United are also laying down contingency plans in case the Brazilian has a change of heart and decides to stay at Chelsea.

Grealish is a home grown talent and would add to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, who have already made a name for themselves, holding their own place in the first-team setup at Manchester United. Also, the youngster’s ability to play all across the three positions behind the striker will also be a bonus for Jose Mourinho in his aim to rotate the squad.

One niggling point would be the fact that Grealish prefers playing through the centre in a number 10 role. But, it could also prove to be a blessing in disguise, with Jose Mourinho not having many options at his disposal to fill the said position, especially after the departures of Wayne Rooney and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

With Aston Villa resigned to at least another season in the Championship, Grealish could relish the opportunity of sealing a move to secure Premier League status for himself while also joining a club as iconic in English history as Manchester United.

Grealish is one of many Aston Villa players that would be on the radar of Premier League clubs and Manchester United or not, the 19-year-old looks set for a move up the ladder.
