Inter Milan are reportedly looking to make a summer move for Luis Suarez, who could be open to a departure from Barcelona.

According to a report by Spanish publication Don Balon, Luis Suarez is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri are plotting a stunning €100 million bid for the Uruguayan striker, who might be open to a departure from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Suarez has been an exemplary addition to the first-team squad at Barcelona, a move that has seen him cement his place as one of the best strikers of his generation. His record at Camp Nou is truly mind boggling, with 152 goals and 87 assists in just 197 appearances in the last four seasons.

In fact, even in a season when there have been signs of a player in decline, Suarez has shown his class and racked up 31 goals and 17 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. But, the Uruguayan’s future at Barcelona is extremely uncertain, if the report is anything to go by, which is piquing the interest of Inter Milan.

Barcelona look set to sign Antoine Griezmann in the summer, a transfer that might put his place as a regular striker in jeopardy in the long run. Moreover, Suarez is disgruntled by the fact that the French international’s wages will surpass his own, which is why he is ready to consider Inter Milan’s offer.

The Nerazzurri currently have Mauro Icardi leading the line for them, with Andrea Pinamonti and Eder as his backups. With Icardi being heavily linked with a gamut of European heavyweights, Inter Milan could be forced into a market in search of a top class replacement, explaining why they seem to be keeping their options open.

With Suarez one of the best strikers in the world, he is viewed as a perfect replacement at San Siro. Inter Milan are also ready to lodge a €100 million to tempt Barcelona to sell the player, but landing him hinges on their ability to qualify for the Champions League – the Nerazzurri need to win their final game against Lazio to finish in the top four.

Meanwhile, Suarez still favours a stay at Barcelona, the club of his dreams where he has achieved a lot of success. But, all signs point towards the Blaugrana offering a pay hike to him, lest they risk losing him in a big money deal to Inter Milan when the summer transfer window opens.
