Hector Bellerin has pledged his loyalty to Arsenal, insisting he will remain at the Emirates even after the summer transfer window is shut.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Hector Bellerin has insisted that he is happy at Arsenal at the present moment and is not angling for a move away from the Emirates in the summer transfer window. The Spaniard also went on call London his “home”, effectively ending talks of a summer move.

Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2011, initially playing in the club’s youth setup before going on to make his first-team debut in 2013. It took one more year of hard graft before the player was able to establish himself as a regular in Arsene Wenger’s squad, although luck played its part as well.

Since then though, Bellerin hasn’t looked back, having been the firm first-choice option at the right side of defence whenever Wenger has deployed a back-four. This season, the Spanish defender has made 46 appearances across all competitions, contributing his side’s cause with three goals and five assists as well.

While he has often come up short on the defensive side of the game, there is no doubting the 23-year-old’s talents when marauding down the right flank. Indeed, Bellerin has been a highly sought-after player in the transfer market, with the likes of Manchester United and Juventus among those that have expressed an interest to swoop him away from Arsenal.

Reports also suggested that Bellerin was looking for a way back to boyhood club Barcelona, but the La Liga champions don’t seem to be interested. There were also suggestions that Arsenal were open to selling the player this summer, as they look primed for a squad overhaul following the departure of Wenger at the end of the season.

But, Bellerin has gone on to quash both of the suggestions, claiming that he is not looking to move away from North London in the summer, reaffirming that he will remain at Arsenal next season.

“I’ve got a long contract, I have been in London for a very long time, this is what I call my home right now. There is nothing else I am thinking of, for the summer. We have the World Cup, I don’t know if I will be called up or not [to Spain], that is something we will need to wait and see.

“If I get given the chance then I will be really happy for it. Apart from that I am sure I will be coming back here next pre-season.”

He also echoed Wenger’s recent statement claiming that Arsenal should be challenging for the title soon. What does seem certain though, is that Bellerin will remain at the North London club unless they look to offload him, and it remains to be seen if the latter indeed is the case.
