Manchester United and Leicester City have reportedly sent scouts to keep tabs on the development of ADO Den Haag wonderkid Sam van Huffel.

According to The Sun, Sam van Huffel is a wanted man, especially in Britain. The Den Haag wonderkid is being tailed by the likes of Manchester United, Leicester City, Aston Villa and Hibernian, with the Premier League duo having already sent scouts to watch the youngster in action.

Sam van Huffel joined Den Haag in the summer of 2016. The player has since progressed from the Under-19 side into the Reserves team and has even been around the first-team setup for a while now. And while the 19-year-old is yet to taste first-team football, his performances for the Reserve side has brought forth interest from Britain.

Manchester United, Leicester City and Aston Villa have been named as suitors for the 19-year-old, with Scottish outfit Hibernian also taking note of van Huffel’s talent – 3 goals from 11 appearances for the Reserves this season from the central midfield shows his pedigree for goals.

Manchester United will be looking to bring in a midfielder or two in the summer transfer window, with Michael Carrick set to hang up his footballing boots while Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have been linked with moves away from the club.

While at 19, van Huffel will not be the midfielder they need but can act as an option to strengthen the side – a player that can act as cover for the midfield position.

Leicester City on the other hand, could offer van Huffel a meatier role in the first-team setup, as can Aston Villa and Hibernian.

Another point that could see van Huffel make the switch is the fact that his contract with Den Haag expires in the summer. Den Haag will look to assure the player of first-team football as an incentive to get him to commit to a new deal at the Eredivisie outfit.

But, with higher profile clubs interested and with the chance of taking the field in a league as illustrious as the Premier League, the likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa or Leicester City might just have an upper hand in this pursuit over Hibernian and the 19-year-old’s current club, Den Haag.

And while Aston Villa are currently in the Championship, they are one of the contenders to gain promotion to the Premier League and do hold a brilliant reputation in world football, regardless of the league they play in.

Where van Huffel ends up is still up in the air, but chances are we will see him in England rather than the Eredivisie or Scotland.
