Juventus are plotting a summer move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere who is out of contract at the end of the season

Reigning Serie A champions Juventus are considering signing Arsenal star Jack Wilshere on a free in the summer, when his contract runs out, according to reports from the Sun.

The 26-year old has less than six months left on his existing deal with the North London outfit and the Bianconeri are looking to pounce on the opportunity to try and sign him on a Bosman transfer at the end of the season.

A source close to the Serie A giants was quoted as saying by the Sun.

“Jack interests Juventus and feelers have been put out. He is a someone whose game would suit Serie A perfectly.”

Wilshere, who is on a salary of £90,000-a-week currently, has been one of the biggest positives for Arsenal in recent weeks, when the performances have dwindled. The England international has made 22 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring a solitary goal and assisting four more.

Seemingly impressed with his performances, Arsenal are willing to offer their academy product a new contract and negotiations are underway. However, the Sun reported earlier this week that the new deal for Wilshere would come with a 20 percent pay cut and a full medical, given his injury history.

Wilshere joined Arsenal’s academy in 2001 and made his first-team debut back is September 2008 at the age of 16 years, 08 months and 12 days. Ever since he made his debut, the Englishman had been tipped for big things, but serious injuries one after the other have meant he has been able to reach the heights that were expected of him.

Till date, the 26-year old has made 182 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and registering 28 assists.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains positive that Wilshere will sign a new deal and an agreement between the two parties will be reached.

He said,“I see Jack staying because he is an Arsenal man. He was here at the age of ten and has some leadership qualities. We have to find an agreement that makes him happy and the wish that in the future he remains fit.”

Juventus have made a habit of signing quality players on a free in recent years, having brought in the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Dani Alves, Sami Khedira all on a Bosman transfer and Wilshere would be joining an elite list of players, if he does end up in Turin come summer.
