La Liga outfit Sevilla are increasingly confident of landing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan, with the striker also apparently drawing interest from West Ham.

According to ESPN, Sevilla are leading the chase for Michy Batshuayi and the La Liga outfit are confident of landing the Chelsea striker ahead of other suitors.

As reported earlier, Sevilla are looking to strengthen their strike-force and have earmarked Batshuayi for the role. Batshuayi has been a bit-part player under Conte and has seen just 9 starts while coming off the bench on 13 occasions. The Belgian though, has impressively been on the scoresheet 9 times.

With Morata becoming Conte’s goto-guy, though he’s been out of form as of late, Batshuayi has found it hard to find game time under his belt. With the World cup looming this year, Batshuayi could well favour the chances of going out on a loan to boost his prospects. Facing the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke, the Belgian would be eager to make a case for himself in Roberto Martinez’s book.

However Chelsea won’t let the Belgian leave unless they get their replacement. Rumours have it that Chelsea are eyeing a move for West Ham’s Andy Caroll while Red Star Belgrade’s Richmond Boakye is also a target. Chelsea are also interested in gaining services of Alexis Sanchez, who is a transfer target for Manchester united as well.

As for Sevilla, Wissam Ben Yedder has been in tremendous form, scoring 17 times in just 23 appearances however Vincenzo Montella is keen to provide a backup to their star-striker. Sevilla’s record €20 million signing, Luis Muriel, has found it hard to adapt in the Spanish League and has scored a meagre 4 goals this season.

Sevilla are currently standing sixth in the la liga rankings – 3 points behind 4th placed Real Madrid, albeit having played a game more.

Having already brought in left-back, Guilherme Arana, Montella would also be looking to bolster his front-line. With Sevilla booking their spot in Copa del Rey Quarter-final, where they take on Atletico Madrid, Montella is looking to add some quality to his attack. Bringing in £70,000-a-week Batshuayi can prove to be a shrewd piece of business for the Spanish side.

However with West Ham coming into the fray for the ex-Marseille player, Sevilla will have to make the move quickly if they want to land the Chelsea ‘super-sub’.
