PSG are keen on signing the 17-year old who is rated as one of England’s brightest talents and is being monitored by Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race for the signature of promising left-back Ryan Sessegnon from EFL Championship side Fulham, the Mirror reports.

The 17-year old defender has been heralded as one of the hottest young prospects across England since his breakthrough season last year with the Cottagers. And he has continued to enhance his burgeoning reputation with starring displays in the 2017/18 campaign for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side in the English second tier.

Sessegnon has featured 28 times in all competitions for the London club, scoring seven goals and registering four assists.

And his displays haven’t gone unnoticed, as a number of top English sides have been reported with an interest in the full-back, and now PSG too have entered the fray.

PSG have reportedly scouted the teenager on a number of occasions this season and have been impressed by the promise that he is showing at such a young age. Unai Emery’s side did sign a left-back in the form of Yuri Berchiche in the summer last year, but see Sessegnon as a great investment for the future.

PSG are not the only club looking at Sessegnon however, with Tottenham Hotspur also maintaining a strong interest in the player. The North Londoners made an attempt to sign the youngster in the previous summer, but he chose to stay with Fulham in order to continue his development and signed a three-year long deal, with an option for the club to extend it by two years.

Tottenham are likely to go back for the 17-year old in the January window, especially considering the fact that Danny Rose continues to be linked with a move away to Manchester United.

Manchester United themselves have expressed some degree of interest in the services of Sessegnon. But, it is believed that manager Jose Mourinho would prefer a move for Tottenham’s Rose rather than the Fulham starlet, while Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is also a reported target.

The Red Devils have had issues at left-back in the past year or so, with the likes of Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw all struggling for consistency.

Manchester United have had to use Ashley Young in a full-back role this term and while the veteran has performed admirably, he does not represent a long-term solution for the club. However, with Shaw’s resurgence in recent weeks, Mourinho might decide to wait till the summer window and reassess his options.

17-year old Sessegnon is primarily a left-back, but on a number of occasions has excelled in an advanced role on the left-flank. This has seen him get likened to former Tottenham star Gareth Bale, who too started out as a full-back before turning into one of the most explosive wingers in recent years.

Fulham are expected to demand a fee of £30 million for Sessegnon’s services and PSG have the financial clout to offer the amount, despite the threat of Financial Fair Play looming large over them, following the big money signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
