Manchester United are interested in Napoli midfielder Jorginho as Mourinho seeks a potential replacement for their ageing veteran, Michael Carrick.

Jose Mourinho is said to be a fan of the 3-times Italian International and believes he can be a vital addition to his depleting midfield line-up, according to Manchester Evening News. Carrick’s contract is up next summer, with Mourinho extending him a warm welcome in joining his coaching staff after he hangs up his boots.

Same is the case with Marouane Fellaini, who has shown reluctance in signing a new contract at Old Trafford, and with PSG interested in the 6’4 Belgian, he could be switching his training grounds to Parc Des Princes on a Bosman transfer next summer.

Ander Herrera’s future is in doubt too, with his contract expiring in 2019. Despite being named United’s Player of the Year last season, the Spaniard has struggled to get ample game-time following the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea and the Spaniard could be searching for greener pastures, with reports of apparent interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Jorginho, 26, has been in sensational form this season, scoring 3 and laying assists on 3 more occasions for the Partenopei. Arriving from Verona for a reported £9m in January 2014, the Italian quickly cemented his place in the starting line-up and has since racked up 136 appearances in the blue shirt.

Jorginho is known for his versatility and can play across a number of positions in the midfield. Known for his work-rate, the Italian is a mainstay in current Naples side, which is leading the Serie A charts for the season. According to a report published by Sun in October, no player in Europe’s top five leagues has made more successful passes than Jorginho.

Such is the stunning form of the Italian that has captured the eye-balls of some of the leading clubs around the world.

United though, are not the only Premier League club interested in the Italian with Arsenal too keeping tabs on him. With his Naples contract ending in 2020, Napoli are in no rush to sell their prized asset and any move in the winter or next summer would have to be a considerable one for sure!
