Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs that have received a huge transfer boost, with Atletico Madrid open to the idea of selling Yannick Carrasco.

According to Spanish publication AS, Atletico Madrid are now open to the idea of parting ways with Belgian superstar Yannick Carrasco and are now willing to listen to offers for the attacker. The news will come as a huge boost to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, all of whom have been continuously linked with the player.

The report entails that Diego Simeone has finally given the club his affirmation to offload the winger, who seems to have proven himself to be a beast that cannot be tamed by El Cholo.

There is no doubt regarding the level of talent that Carrasco is. The 24-year-old arrived from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015 and was immediately a star for Los Rojiblancos, despite boasting mediocre numbers as far as direct contributions are concerned.

Now in his third season though, Simeone seems to have had enough of the player’s tantrums. Carrasco has often been involved in bust-ups with teammates and coaches, something which has often taken a toll on the team’s results.

Atletico are now prepared to cut ties with the player and could be in for a windfall as well, with Arsenal and Chelsea prepared to go big for the 24-year-old.

Arsenal’s need for reinforcements on the wing has been highlighted in recent times. Add to that the almost-inevitable departure of Alexis Sanchez in the near future and Arsene Wenger is right in looking for an explosive winger to add to his squad. Carrasco is the very definition of explosive.

The Belgian’s contribution has room for improvement, as evidenced by his journey so far at Atletico Madrid. But, his ability to drive fear into the opposition defence could be just what Arsenal need.

Chelsea, on the other hand, could also do with the arrival of a winger. Willian has been linked with an exit in recent times while Antonio Conte’s insistence of deploying Eden Hazard as a striker has seen the Blues’ options out wide being limited to just Pedro and Willian.

At Chelsea, Carrasco could settle in well alongside his international teammates Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi, which could hand Conte’s men a slight edge in the pursuit of the Atletico winger.

Bayern Munich could also compete with Arsenal and Chelsea for the 24-year-old. The Bavarians were linked with the player for a while. But, with a new manager at the helm, it would be interesting to see whether Jupp Heynckes has the same view as his predecessor Carlo Ancelotti.

Yannick Carrasco seems to be on his way out of the Spanish capital in January. And chances are, he could be the next Belgian international to land himself a starring role for one of the top teams in a league as competitive and illustrious as the Premier League.
