Antonio Conte has maintained a coy stance on the probability of N’Golo Kante featuring for Chelsea as the Blues host Manchester United on Sunday.

Chelsea host Manchester United on Sunday, with a win and three points on the back of the minds of both Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho. But, it is Conte who seems to be the one with an advantage, with last year’s drubbing still a fresh wound along with N’Golo Kante, who seems likely to return to action soon.

Antonio Conte, however, remained coy on the subject, stating in his pre-match conference that he would take a decision depending on the situation. The Italian did update the fans that Kante is close to returning and shall soon feature for the Blues again.

“N’Golo is progressing well, we also have tomorrow and then I’ll take the best decision for him and the team. But for sure he’s progressing well and I’m very happy about this. We are talking about an important player.

“If I wanted to risk him I could have done it against Bournemouth or Roma. Instead I waited, I had a lot of patience to find the best way and it means if I decide to put him in the team and start the game he will be ready.”

One player who is set to start on Sunday though, is Gary Cahill, with Antonio Conte confirming that the player will be a part of his back-three as the Red Devils come to pay the Blues a visit. Victor Moses is still a fair distance away from returning, with Conte stating that the player had zero chance of playing on Sunday.

“No, zero chance. It was a bad muscular problem. We must wait and have patience, he needs more time to recover.”

For Manchester United, Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini have travelled with the squad for the trip. There are rumours of Paul Pogba being in contention to feature as well, a notion Mourinho has not confirmed. There are doubts over Jesse Lingard’s availability as well, after the player was forced to come off early against Benfica with a back problem.
