Defending La Liga champions Real Madrid will be hosted by Getafe tonight at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, as they look to try and catch up with league leaders Barcelona.

As per a statement on Real Madrid’s official website, forward Gareth Bale, defender Dani Carvajal, midfielders Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic and goalkeeper Keylor Navas are all set to miss out on tonight’s match against José Bordalás’s Azulones.

However, it’s not all bad for the reigning champions. Marcelo and Karim Benzema are both fit and expected to return straight into the starting XI. Summer signing Theo Hernandez is also returning to fitness and the Frenchman’s return will certainly give them more depth in defence.

Speaking about Keylor Navas’ injury in his pre-match press conference, Zidane said,”I hope Keylor Navas’s problem will keep him out just a few days. It’s an overload in the abductor. We’ll monitor it day by day but I don’t think it’s much,” before revealing that Kiko Casilla would feature tonight.

Zidane went on to provide a positive update on Dani Carvajal’s condition. The fullback was diagnosed with a heart condition before their last league game against Espanyol. The 45-year-old revealed that Carvajal would be fully fit in a few weeks.

He said,”With the heart we can’t take it lightly and we must be patient. That’s it. He’s okay, relaxed and he knows that those who are dealing with his recovery are doing things perfectly.” He went on to say: “It could be a week or two and then he’ll be at 100%. He wants to get back, but his health is the most important thing.”

Tottenham Hotspur imports Gareth Bale and Luka Modric won’t feature either. The Croatian will be out as he is recovering from a shoulder injury while Bale has been ruled out after a problem was discovered whilst he was at international duty with Wales.
