Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, who are reportedly eyeing a summer move for the French international.

According to French publication Le Parisien, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante could be heading his way back to France in the summer of 2018. Paris Saint-German are reportedly eyeing a summer move for the midfielder as the potential replacement for veteran Thiago Motta.

N’Golo Kante has taken the football world by storm in the last couple of seasons. While he was a part of history in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign with Leicester City, he played an equally important part in Chelsea’s triumphant league campaign in the 2016-17 season.

Undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the world right now, Kante has been lauded for his tenacity and stamina. The midfielder has started this season in the same vein of form. But, Chelsea are set to miss him for the next few games after the Frenchman got injured on international duty.

Paris Saint-Germain have an enviable attack right now. But, their midfield options are a bit lacking. Unai Emery does have Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot to deploy but beyond the duo, Thiago Motta is the only quality option present in the squad, especially after the departure of Blaise Matuidi (Juventus) and Grzegorz Krychowiak (West Brom on loan).

Christopher Nkunku has emerged as a potential option for Emery but the manager would like to add a central midfielder to his squad, especially in the summer, with Thiago Motta already 35 years of age.

And with Emery looking to recruit in the summer, N’Golo Kante is on the club’s radar. PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique has shortlisted Kante as a summer target for the club, who have to be wary of the Financial Fair Play regulations as well.

Kylian Mbappe’s deal is a season-long loan and the financial effect of his permanent transfer will arrive in the next season. Thus, Emery will have to move a few players along if he wants to spend more and still be within the limits of the Financial Fair Play regulations.

PSG see the player as a complete package and the perfect fit within their squad. Kante could also be enticed by the prospect of returning to his homeland. The present season though, could very well have a formidable say in it, with Chelsea and PSG both vying for domestic and European success.
