Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the progress of Mexican winger Hirving Lozano after a storming start to his Eredivisie season at PSV.

According to Daily Mail, Arsenal are investing much time into scouring probable prospects to replace Alexis Sanchez should he end up leaving. New PSV boy Hirving Lozano is one of the many wingers who the Gunners are keeping a keen eye on.

The Mexican winger came up through the academy setup at local club Pachuca and was regarded as one of the brightest up-and-coming talents in the nation. After rumours linking the player to multiple clubs for several transfer windows, the most prominent name being Manchester United, Lozano arrived in Europe in the summer.

And the player has taken to life in Eredivisie with some aplomb, with a return of 6 goals and 4 assists for PSV in just 6 league matches so far. The impact that Lozano has managed to make at his new club has brought forth interest from Arsenal.

According to the report, Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley has been taking a close look at the player’s performances, having watched him in action earlier and are scouting the talent as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is yet to sign a renewal with the club.

The 22-year-old has only arrived at PSV in the recently concluded summer transfer window but could be on his way out of the club as soon as January, with Arsenal and other clubs tipped to table offers for the explosive winger once the transfer window reopens.

Arsenal are in a precarious position as regards Alexis Sanchez, who did stay beyond the summer transfer window but has shown no intention to sign an extension with the club, especially with the player rumoured to be keen on a reunion with his former manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Gunners are also looking at other prospects as well, with the club linked to Ademola Lookman as well. But, Lookman is also being tailed by Tottenham and Arsene Wenger could deem Lozano to be a more realistic and easier target come January, compared to the English youngster.
