Ben Woodburn is reportedly set for a huge pay hike, with Liverpool set to resume talks over a new deal that will see the youngster rake in £25,000 per-week.

Liverpool have seen many exciting youngsters come through their fabled setup at Melwood. And the Kop has one more academy graduate to get excited about, with Ben Woodburn coming through their ranks thick and fast. According To Daily Mirror, the player is also set for a pay hike that will see his wages enter the realms of a first-team star.

Ben Woodburn joined the club at the age of seven and has since progressed through the ranks with an air of expectation surrounding his potential. The youngster had been earmarked Jurgen Klopp as early as last year as one of the players he saw as a future first-team superstar.

The player broke into the first-team under Klopp. But, it is the international break that has seen him establish his credentials as a wonderkid. Chosen by Chris Coleman to be a part of the Welsh National team for the important World Cup Qualifier matches against Austria and Moldova.

The 17-year-old came on to score the winning goal against Austria and backed it up by assisting the opening goal against Moldova in another successful appearance off the bench. The player is already a part of the first-team setup at Anfield. But, if reports are to be believed, his wage is set to enter the bracket of a first-team star as well.

Despite signing a three-year deal in November 2016, the player is set to be handed a professional contract once he turns 18 on October 15. The report iterates that the youngster will see his wage bumped up to £25,000 per week, which is around the minimum for a first-team player.

Liverpool have a policy in place which has capped the wage of a 17-year-old at the club to a maximum of £40,000 per week. And while Woodburn will not reach the limit just yet, the wage bump is well in line with the level of talent that he has displayed over the international break.

It is worth noting that there were reports of Gareth Bale urging Real Madrid to sign Ben Woodburn and with such performances, Real Madrid might just decide to pay heed to their superstar’s advice.
