Valencia have reportedly completed a season-long loan move for Manchester United star Andreas Pereira.

According to a report by The Sun, Andreas Pereira has completed a loan move to join Valencia this summer. Although Pereira was linked with a move for months, it seemed all the more evident when the versatile midfielder was not included in the match-day squads against West Ham, Swansea City or Leicester City.

Pereira has been an integral part of the United squad in the pre-season games so far, and featured for the Red Devils against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake. It is understood that Mourinho is impressed with the 21-year-old’s performances and is considering involving him more with the first-team squad.

The talented Brazilian was touted as the next big thing for United after having emerged from the club’s academy in recent years. However, he has failed to establish himself as a regular first-team member for United. While the youngster does not lack talent, he is believed to be a diamond in the rough and will require a lot of work.

The young midfielder was quite impressive last season as he served a loan spell with Granada. In fact, he was also a key member of Jose Mourinho’s squad in pre-season, but it seems like the Portuguese boss will offload him since he cannot guarantee him first team football.

The addition of Nemanja Matic, and the impressive performances put up by Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan would go on to limit Pereira’s game time further.

Pereira thrives while playing deeper roles, wherein he has excelled. It is important to note that Pereira played in the same position for major chunks of the previous season, and is likely that Valencia will provide him scope to continue in the same area. Also, he is very young and will be in need of playing as many minutes as possible on field.

Thus, a short-term move to join Valencia can work out in the best interests of Manchester United as well as Pereira. He can complete his loan spell and return to Old Trafford as a much more experienced and refined player. Fighting for a spot in the squad can yield better results then, than it may right now.
