Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona have reportedly agreed a 100 million transfer fee for Ousmane Dembele, but the German club want another 30 million as add-ons.

According to a report in Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona have agreed a whopping €100 million deal with Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele. But the Bundesliga club – looking to make the most of the 20-year old’s rising reputation – are demanding another €30 million as add-ons.

Ousmane Dembele has turned heads with impressive performances for Dortmund in the 2016-17 season. The top clubs have been looking to snap up the 20-year old’s signature, but the Catalans seem to have triumphed.

Barcelona, though, are unsure about the add-ons, which will be based on his goals, titles etc. whilst playing at Camp Nou, and so the deal might take a little longer to fructify.

Barcelona’s board have been under pressure to bring in reinforcements after Neymar’s departure to PSG, and the Frenchman appears to be on his way to replacing the Brazilian superstar. The player bagged 6 goals and delivered twice as many assists for Dortmund in Bundesliga last season.

And while Dembele might not be a like for like replacement for Neymar, he has shown tremendous promise over his short career thus far, and the former Rennes man is definitely one for the future. But, the Frenchman was reportedly involved in a training ground bust-up during pre-season, which has seen him run into trouble.

Dortmund were also unhappy about the player’s professionalism after he refused to show up in training and did not answer phone calls from the club. This has forced the club to suspend him indefinitely. The latest developments have put Dembele’s future at the Signal Iduna Park under further uncertainty.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have also been eyeing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, but neither Chelsea nor the Belgian seem to keen to on the transfer. Liverpool’s Philippe Countinho has also been on Barca’s radar, but after the Brazilian signed a new five-year contract in January, his future is in the hands of the club despite putting in a transfer request.

After Barcelona’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Real Madrid, they announced the signing of Tottenham flop Paulinho, which has shocked fans and pundits alike. However, the signing of Ousmane Dembele will not be a shock by any stretch of the imagination, since the player is rearing to make a move to Barcelona.
