Manchester United are reportedly close to acquiring the services of highly-rated Oliveirense wonderkid Bruno Amorim.

According to Portuguese publication Noticias ao Minuto, Manchester United are set to bag themselves another promising superstar-in-the-making, with Oliveirense wonderkid Bruno Amorim almost confirmed to be moving to Old Trafford.

Armorim has received his entire footballing education at Oliveirense thus far, with the striker only making the reserve squad for the club last season. And, with just four appearances under his belt, the player could be on his way to Old Trafford.

Oliveirense director Antonio Jose Leite all but confirmed the player’s impending move, stating that the transfer is ’90% done’ while also highlighting the fact that he has been promoted to the first-team setup this season and was in line to be a part of Pedro Miguel’s side.

Leite said, “He had been promoted to the main squad, but the scouting (Manchester United) was already aware and decided to take him there to experience. At this time the business is 90% done and he can have an excellent contract. The contract will shortly be announced, but it is a future bet on United.”

As far as the financial side of the move is confirmed, while Leite did not disclose the exact fee, he did highlight that Manchester United will be parting with a fee in lieu for the 19-year-old.

“We’ll receive training rights because he’s always been trained here, although in monetary terms it may not be more than that. These details are not yet defined. But the training rights and future sales of the player are guaranteed gains.”

The 19-year-old will be joining Ricky Sbragia’s Under-23 side at Manchester United to team up with the likes of Aliou Traore and other summer arrivals along with the players promoted from the youth squad.

United fans have been voicing their concerns over the lack of an out-and-out striker in the Under-23 side, which has seen the club try out many of their midfielders in the position, much to no avail. However, the squad seems to be taking shape now, with a manager finally in place, following the return of Ricky Sbragia.

And, in Amorim, the Under-23 squad will finally get their striker along with James Wilson, who is also a part of the reserve squad this season, as he continues his return from injury.
