Real Madrid are reportedly unwilling to part ways with Lucas Vazquez as interest in the Spaniard continues to mount.

Spanish publication Don Balon have reported that Real Madrid will not sell Lucas Vazquez at any cost this summer even as the Spaniard continues to attract interest from several clubs. The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are two of the biggest clubs tailing the 26-year-old.

Vazquez progressed through the ranks at Real Madrid before finally breaking into the senior side in the 2015/16 season. While the Spaniard has still not managed to become one of the first names on the team sheets for Los Blancos, he has enjoyed a larger role in the first-team setup under Zinedine Zidane.

Vazquez was particularly impressive last season as he racked up 50 appearances for Real Madrid, proving to be more than just a reliable backup in midfield and attack. The player also turned in a decent return of 4 goals and 14 assists.

Vazquez, though, could be eyeing a move away from the Bernabeu to secure regular first-team football, especially with several clubs keen on signing him.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been eyeing the player for a long time now, and the Premier League duo have rekindled their interest in him. They have also been joined by AS Roma and Newcastle United in pursuit of the 26-year-old.

At Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has been busy in the transfer market and is looking to further bolster his squad ahead of the Reds’ return to the Champions League. The German manager is keen to beef up his options in midfield, in particular, having already made two additions in attack in the form of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke.

Vazquez’s arrival can also potentially cover up for Philippe Coutinho’s departure, with Barcelona lurking. Meanwhile, Arsenal could be eyeing Vazquez as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez, with the Chilean heavily linked with a summer exit for the Emirates.

The Spaniard could potentially also be a cover in midfield – another area where Arsene Wenger is eyeing reinforcements this summer. AS Roma and Newcastle are two other suitors for the winger, with all the clubs having the potential to provide regular minutes.

Real Madrid, though, are unwilling to let go of the player as Zinedine Zidane fears he does not have enough time to find a replacement.

Additionally, Vazquez is a player who the Frenchman rates very highly within his first-team setup, and is, therefore, desperate to keep hold of the player. It now remains to be seen if Vazquez calls it quits at the Bernabeu this summer or remains in Zidane’s squad.
