Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Juan Cuadrado from Juventus, having submitted an enquiry for the Colombian winger

Spanish publication Don Balon have reported that Juan Cuadrado is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. Los Blancos have established contact with Juventus over the availability of the Colombian forward this summer, with club president Florentino Perez ready to make a move for the player.

Cuadrado first moved to Juventus in the summer of 2015, just a few months after he departed from Italy for Chelsea. Initially a season-long loan, Cuadrado’s impressive performances in the season prompted the Bianconeri to sign him on another temporary deal, this time a three-season loan, last summer.

However, after an impressive campaign this past season, Juventus decided to sign the player on a permanent basis this summer. In all, Cuadrado made 45 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A club, bagging 3 goals and 10 assists – a modest return but one that doesn’t show the true picture of his influence for his side.

His time at Juventus, though, could be about to come to an end, just weeks after he penned a permanent deal with the Italian giants. Reports have suggested that Cuadrado would be open to a move away from the Allianz Stadium if an appropriate opportunity presented itself.

His desire to join another club perhaps stems from the arrival of Federico Bernardeschi, with the signing of the Italian winger threatening to push Cuadrado down the pecking order. With a summer move touted to be in the offing, Real Madrid have expressed their interest in signing the player.

The Spanish and European champions have offloaded Danilo this summer, and the Brazilian’s departure leaves them without a player to be Dani Carvajal’s deputy on the right side of defence. With Cuadrado having prior experience of playing as a right-back, he has emerged as a target for Los Blancos.

More importantly though, the Colombian winger could become an option in attack, with Gareth Bale being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, although Real Madrid are confident of landing Kylian Mbappe as a more ideal replacement.

Nevertheless, a move for Cuadrado may just be on the cards as well, with the player open to joining Real Madrid as well, less than two months after his controversial and acrimonious sending off in the Champions League final.

Juventus have slapped a €35 million price tag on the player, as per the report and Los Blancos are unlikely to be deterred by the figure. It now remains to be seen if a summer switch to Santiago Bernabeu becomes a reality for Cuadrado, or if some other suitors manage to land him.
