Chelsea are reportedly plotting a move to bring 14-year-old Celtic sensation Karamoko Dembele over to Stamford Bridge.

According to The Sun, Chelsea are plotting a move for Celtic teen sensation Karamoko Dembele. The 14-year-old prodigy caught the eye of onlookers earlier on last season and has been the subject of interest of every top club in world football. And it seems the Blues are already preparing to snap the player up ahead of the other suitors.

It is not everyday that a 14-year-old footballer creates such hype and widespread interest in his services. Karamoko Dembele, though, genuinely looks one-of-a-kind. In October 2016, the world was made known of a 13-year-old youngster who featured for the Celtic Under-20 side.

And while the youngster’s participation was met with concerns regarding the potential effect on physical and mental growth of the diminutive footballer, it created much hype around his talent, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and others sitting up and taking note of the prodigious talent.

The player, though, has been in mild controversy ever since. Karamoko is eligible to play for Scotland, England and the Ivory Coast. And with the hype around the player, there brewed a tug-of-war between Scotland and England with Ivory Coast seemingly passive.

England seemed to have won the race, though, as Dembele opted to represent the Three Lions at the Under-15 level. However, England’s hopes received a fresh shock after the player went back to representing Scotland at the Under-16 level and played a key role in his side’s triumph in the Under-16 event.

The highlight of the event was when Dembele represented Scotland against England in a 2-0 win for his new side. And while the player did not contribute anything material to the match, he later on showed why he is being chased by the who’s who of world football, by starring in their triumphant campaign.

Suffice to say, Dembele is one of the most highly-rated budding footballers right now. And, Chelsea, who have already snapped up Billy Gilmour from Celtic’s rivals Rangers, are eyeing a move for the 14-year-old as well.

Chelsea, though, is perhaps, not the most enticing home for budding new footballers. The Blues are notorious for a lack of opportunities provided to the academy graduates in the first-team setup and it will be interesting to see if Karamoko takes the aforementioned into account.

For now, though, Chelsea’s interest is unlikely to faze the player, who looks well on his way to becoming the next sensation in world football.
