Liverpool have reportedly joined fellow Premier League outfit Arsenal in the pursuit of Brazilian full-back Dalbert Henrique, who is under contract at OGC Nice

According to Mercato 365, Liverpool are the latest Premier League club to emerge as a suitor for OGC Nice defender Dalbert Henrique. The Brazilian is also on Arsenal’s radar. But, it seems the Gunners will now have to fight the Reds in order to get their man.

Dalbert Henrique is a 23-year-old Brazilian that arrived in Europe at Academico Viseu FC before moving to Vitoria Guimaraes SC and ultimately to OGC Nice in the summer of 2016. And in his maiden Ligue 1 campaign, the full-back managed to impress everyone with his ability.

Dalbert was one of the main pillars in the Nice starting eleven and a regular at the back as the club finished third on the table, conceding the second least number of goals in the league. The 23-year-old racked up 33 appearances in the league alone and was an instrumental figure in the aforementioned feat.

Arsenal were in dire need of an attack minded left-back to fill the void in the summer, especially after Wenger’s recent affinity towards a 3-4-2-1 formation. Dalbert with his experience at left-back and left midfield is an ideal player for the said position.

However, the Gunners have snapped up Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, which has seen Arsenal cool off their interest in the Brazilian. However, Liverpool have now joined the race. The Reds were linked to Andrew Robertson in recent times while also being a suitor for Benjamin Mendy.

Mendy, though, looks set for a move to City while PSG are now a rival in Robertson’s chase, meaning Dalbert has now emerged on Liverpool’s radar. Also, with Arsenal bowing out of the race, Liverpool may have a clear run in towards the 23-year-old.

Liverpool, though, must act quickly as the player seems to be edging towards a move to Inter Milan. And, if the Reds are ready to match Nice’s €30 million asking price, the 23-year-old could just be heading to England in the summer; and in a red shirt; adding to the already present Brazilian contingent at Anfield.
