Real Madrid are reportedly set to secure the signing of highly-rated Spanish wonderkid Borja Alonso Cabrera from Las Palmas.

Spanish outlet MARCA have reported that Real Madrid are set to snap up another prodigious talent from the Las Palmas academy after signing Raul Asencio last month. This time, Los Blancos have returned to the Canary Islanders to secure the services of highly-rated wonderkid, Borja Alonso Cabrera.

Borja Alonso Cabrera is a highly-rated teenage prodigy who has rapidly progressed through the ranks at the Canary Islands club, Las Palmas before making the grade with the club’s Infantil B team in the recently concluded season.

Primarily a midfielder who plies his trade on the right flank who boasts superb dribbling abilities and technical quality, Cabrera was an instrumental member for the Infantil B team, excelling in both the Alevin Preferente and the Canarian under-12 competitions over the past season.

And after impressing in the aforementioned competitions, Cabrera has attracted interest from one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Real Madrid have returned to Las Palmas this month to poach another one of their prospects after they secured the services of 14-year-old midfielder Raul Asencio last month.

In fact, Real Madrid have been following Cabrera’s progress for over a year now with the club’s scout in the Canary Islands, Sixto Alfonso earmarking him as a bright and exciting prospect. Los Blancos though, were eager to wait for another season to complete to ascertain if the player progressed as per expectations.

With Cabrera quite clearly being a stand out player in the Alevin Preferente and the Canarian under-12 competitions his development has been highly promising. Real Madrid have, thus, taken the decision to take advantage of the rule which sees all youth players released and ripe for the taking on June 30.

Cabrera’s impending departure for Real Madrid now sees Manuel Rodriguez lose another important player from his squad, as Los Blancos continue to bring talented players to the Spanish capital in their renewed outlook towards investing heavily in youth players.

It now remains to be seen if the exciting young midfielder manages to continue his development in a promising fashion at Real Madrid’s academy to justify his billing as one of the most exciting young prospects in Spain.
