Lazio’s Felipe Anderson has been repeated linked with Manchester United in the past and is still eyeing what would be a dream move to Old Trafford, despite Chelsea interest.

According to the Sun, Chelsea target Felipe Anderson has called it a ‘dream’ to play for a team of Manchester United’s stature and there is no doubt his latest comments will ignite further transfer rumours between the player and the Old Trafford club.

United have long been linked with the Brazilian and off-late Chelsea have expressed their interest to sign the player following his exploits with Lazio last season. The 24-year-old has been impressive for the Romans ever since he completed the move to Italy during the summer of 2013.

Speaking to Sport TV, Anderson said: “Every player dreams of playing for a team like United. After my season that was very good in the second year, there has always been a lot of speculation. If an opportunity shows up, or when I present myself at Lazio, I have to present myself very well.”

Since his transfer from Santos, Anderson has clocked a respectable tally of 26 goals and 33 assists from 145 outings. Despite his exploits at club level, the midfielder hasn’t enjoyed much luck at international level with just a solitary appearance for the Selecao in 2015 to his name.

Jose Mourinho will be keen to add some Brazilian flair to his attack as well especially with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure from the club. The club are already being linked with a £64 million move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Anderson could only add further depth to a line-up set to compete in the Champions League next term.

The 24-year-old’s versatility is something Mourinho will look to tap into. He has plied his trade at right wing primarily but has also seen significant game-time at left wing, attacking midfield, right midfield and centre-forward role.

However, despite expressing his interest, the player concedes that he doesn’t have his head turned by interest from Chelsea and further establishes that the business side of things are taken care of by his sister and his agents.

Having established his quality on a regular basis, the 24-year-old could opt for a bigger challenge and potentially greater opportunities at silverware following three trophy-less years in Italy. Prior to his transfer to Europe, Anderson had  Copa Libertadores and Recopa Sudamerica medals to his name.

Whether the Brazilian will end up swapping loyalties with a Premier League giant in the summer remains to be seen. Furthermore, it’ll be interesting to see if he sports the Red of Manchester or the Blue of London.
