Manchester United’s desire to sign Inter Milan superstar Ivan Perisic is in jeopardy as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain enter the race.

According to a report by The Sun, Manchester United target Ivan Perisic could potentially spark a bidding war as interest from Bayern Munich and PSG surmounts.

The interest of Bayern is understood to be quite strong since manager Carlo Ancelotti is an ardent admirer of the Inter player and will not shy away if a bidding war ensues.

Meanwhile, PSG are known to be big spenders and will be looking for better quality players after losing out on the Ligue 1 title to Monaco. As they prepare to snatch the trophy next season, they will be more than willing to splash the cash and indulge in a massive amount to sign Perisic, which will seem advantageous to Inter Milan.

It was earlier reported that Inter Milan rejected United’s initial bid for the Croatian but looks like Jose Mourinho will continue their chase despite Bayern Munich and PSG entering the fray. Perisic will cost about £45 million after an impressive season at Inter which was preceded by a solid Euro 2016 campaign with Croatia.

The 28-year-old is known to play on the left either as a midfielder or in an attacking role. Mourinho appreciates versatility and the same will come in handy for United. Perisic is a traditional winger in the sense that he likes starting out on the touchline and often cuts inside.

Perisic is essentially right-footed and his ability to cross or dribble with both feet makes him a defender’s nightmare. The former Borussia Dortmund player can move forward with blistering face and that will be welcome in a team like the present United squad.

Manchester United fans are eager to see attacking football and Perisic is certainly capable to bring all that and more to Old Trafford. The Croatian seems to like scoring in spectacular fashion, something which is similar to United’s recovering talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

If the deal goes through, Anthony Martial will face the most pressure. Jose Mourinho is open to selling Martial, but if he stays back at United then he will expect a significant reduction in playing time.
