Paris Saint-German have reportedly prepared a massive €60 million bid for Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, who has been a long-time Manchester United target.

According to a report by AS, the French club have made a move to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak for €60 million, even as Jose Mourinho has been targeting Oblak for a while now.

Earlier, the Slovenian goalkeeper was a part of the Benfica side which landed a domestic treble in the 2013-14 season, before moving to Atletico Madrid. Oblak has also won 10 caps for Slovenia after making his debut in 2012.

Oblak has made 113 appearances in the last three seasons for Diego Simeone’s side, and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe currently.

Europa League winners Manchester United have been targeting Oblak for quite some time, after fresh reports emerged of David De Gea seeking a move to Real Madrid over the summer.

However, now that they have qualified to the Champions League, it remains to be seen whether De Gea is still open to moving out of Old Trafford. If he does though, Jan Oblak can be a worthy replacement.

United already have Sergio Romero, who started ahead of De Gea in the Europa League final. But, finding a replacement for David De Gea will have to be top priority as the Red Devils will have to face Champions League commitments next term.

Signing Oblak would be ideal for the Manchester United. The Red Devils, though, will now have to fend off competition from PSG, with the French giants having submitted a bid to sign the young Slovenian.

It is understood that PSG are not satisfied with the performances of their current goalkeepers – Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola. The French giants missed out on the Ligue 1 title to Monaco this year, and both keepers under-performed for the club.

Trapp has played 31 games across all competitions and conceded 23 goals while Areola conceded 14 goals in his 15 Ligue 1 appearances, which is practically one goal in each game. The numbers are evident that PSG desperately need a keeper like Oblak.

Both PSG and Manchester United will need to sign a quality goalkeeper this season, but since the French club has already submitted a bid, it looks like they will be the front-runners to recruit Oblak next season.
