Liverpool, Arsenal and AS Roma are reportedly in a three-way tussle for Lucas Vazquez and are ready to table offers to land the Real Madrid star in the summer.

Spanish publication Diario Gol have claimed that Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez is garnering interest from three top European outfits. Arsenal, Liverpool and AS Roma are all interested in the player and are ready to battle it out in the summer when the transfer window opens.

Lucas Vazquez is another product of the Real Madrid academy who has managed to carve out a place for himself in the current first-team setup under Zinedine Zidane. The player has been handed a squad role under the Frenchman – a role the Spaniard has thrived in, stepping in when needed.

And given Zidane’s penchant for squad rotation, the 25-year-old has been able to notch a staggering 50 appearances in all competitions this season, while being a core part of the club’s league triumph – featuring in all but 5 of their league matches this campaign.

Vazquez has also recorded a decent aggregate return of 4 goals and 14 assists this season. However, with Real Madrid set to reinforce their squad in the summer, Vazquez is in fear of slipping down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu – a proposition which may compel him to seek a move away from the club.

The Spaniard does not have any dearth of suitors, though, with Liverpool, Arsenal and AS Roma all interested in the player. Liverpool and Arsenal had approached Real Madrid and enquired about the possibility of signing the 25-year-old earlier – an enquiry which was swiftly rejected by Real Madrid.

The duo, though, are set to renew their interest in the summer. Liverpool have managed to secure Champions League football for next campaign and must now work on adding depth to the squad while also covering for the probability of Philippe Coutinho leaving the club to join Barcelona in the summer.

Vazquez is comfortable playing on either wing and can be an able replacement for Coutinho while also acting as a perfect addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad, with the player being able to bring a winning mentality to the club. Vazquez also has Champions League experience, which will also aid Liverpool’s return to the elite European competition.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are also in Europe, albeit in the Europa League. However, the club is in dire need of reinforcements amid reports of a summer exodus on the cards. Lucas Vazquez can really fill up the potential void left by Alexis Sanchez, if the player does end up leaving.

Also, Vazquez has proven himself as a great creator and could come in very handy in case Arsenal do reinforce their frontline with a world-class striker in the summer.

AS Roma, on the other hand, are also showing interest in the player, with newly appointed director Monchi having been impressed by the player’s ability and potential. With Francesco Totti set to hang up his boots in the summer, according to Monchi, Vazquez could be the long-term addition needed to mitigate the impact of the legend’s retirement.

Real Madrid are likely to let go of Vazquez if a sizeable bid arrives and given the desperation of both Liverpool and Arsenal, we could well be seeing the 25-year-old strut his stuff in the Premier League in the coming season.
