Manchester United and Real Madrid have been alerted to the possibility of losing out on Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches, who has been offered to Barcelona.

Spanish publication Don Balon have claimed that super agent Jorge Mendes has sensationally offered Bayern Munich superstar to Barcelona. The player has been tailed by Real Madrid and Manchester United, both of whom have been alerted to the possibility of losing out on the player.

Renato Sanches came to the fore in Liga NOS but the midfielder truly announced himself to Europe as he played a central role in Portugal’s triumph at the 2016 European Championship, which saw him moving to Bayern Munich in a big-money transfer.

Much was expected from Renato Sanches on the club level but the player has been unable to establish himself in the Bavarians’ first-team setup, managing a mere 17 appearances in the league and 25 in total this season – far from what a starter is expected to notch.

In fact, Bayern Munich have been so disappointed with the player that they are now prepared to sell him for the same amount they paid to sign him in the first place – €35 million. Manchester United have already been linked with a summer move for the player, despite Ancelotti assuring of the player’s presence in the next season squad.

The Red Devils were thought to be the frontrunner in the race to sign Sanches last summer, before Bayern Munich hijacked their pursuit. Jose Mourinho has lamented on United’s failure to land Sanches and is likely to be the first one to have a go at the player, if he is made available.

However, another club was interested in the player last summer – Real Madrid. Los Blancos were looking at signing the player but ended up going for Andre Gomes instead – a player who chose Barcelona over Real. Madrid have been ruing the miss and are set to re-enter the pursuit of the player in the summer.

Both the clubs, though, will have to act fast as reports have emerged of Jorge Mendes, agent of Renato Sanches – offering the player to Barcelona, who are looking to overhaul their midfield as well and could move for the player.

The asking price is unlikely to be a bone of contention, with the 19-year-old still holding great value, in terms of present ability and future potential, and we could be set for another summer with the best of Europe fighting over the Portuguese superstar.
