PSG will offer a sum of £50 million and either Marquinhos or Angel di Maria in order to land Manchester United target Ivan Perisic.

According to a report by The Sun, the Ligue 1 giants are plotting a move to sign the Croatian player by paying £50 million and offering either Marquinhos or Angel Di Maria as a sweetener.

The French club are looking for a complete overhaul of their team after a disappointing season under Unai Emery, and are trying to create space for new signings.

PSG’s stronghold over the Ligue 1 title is over with Monaco claiming their first title in 17 years. Also, Julian Draxler’s arrival in January failed to stop PSG from exiting the Champions League after a humiliating and shocking loss to Barcelona, despite the massive lead in the first-leg.

Desperate to turn things for the better, PSG chiefs are keen on signing Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic who has been a long-standing target for Manchester United. Other Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal have also expressed an interest in the Croatian.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has always been a fan of Perisic and now United might have to enter a bidding war in order to sign the midfielder. However, if a bidding war does take place, Perisic might be inclined to say yes to a club with a better prospect at Champions League football.

While PSG have a guaranteed spot, United can gain the same only by winning their Europa League final against Ajax.
Perisic has made his desire to move quite vocal, especially after Inter’s disappointing season in Serie A, as they sit 14 points off the Champions League qualification places with only six games to go.

Since joining Inter Milan from Wolfsburg in 2015, Perisic has made 68 appearances and scored 17 goals. United need a good midfielder and Perisic can be an ideal fit considering how he can be deployed as an attacking midfielder and a second striker.

United are aiming for a better performances next season and will hope to finish in the top three at least. To do that, they will need a strong attacking midfielder who is capable of delivering pacey and accurate performances. Perisic is gifted in those areas and can do well to aid the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

Also, with Michael Carrick’s decline in form, United need to sign a dependable midfielder who is versatile yet consistent.

The in-demand midfielder does have a lot of clubs vying for him, and a fierce bidding war might ensue as Manchester United and PSG try to sign him on.
