Arsenal, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly locked in a three-way tussle for Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo.

Italian publication Calciomercato are claiming that as many as three Premier League clubs are showing interest in Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo. The Colombian is reportedly being tailed by Arsenal, Tottenham and even Leicester City as the clubs look to strengthen their respective defences in the summer.

Jeison Murillo has taken to Italian football quite well after his move to Inter from Granada in the summer of 2015. The 24-year-old has accumulated a total of 66 appearances for Nerazzurri till date. However, as the season draws to a close, the player might not be an Inter player for much longer.

Tottenham, Leicester and Arsenal are all looking to add to their respective defences. And while Tottenham and Leicester have been linked recently to the Colombian, Arsenal seems to be the latest club to join the list.

Tottenham could be set to lose Toby Alderweireld, who is in a contract standoff at Spurs and with Inter Milan interested in the player, Spurs could striker a deal that facilitates the transfer of both the players to opposite ends with or without the added involvement of cash.

Leicester, on the other hand, have an ageing backline and one of the main tasks for the Foxes would be to freshen up the back four. Jeison Murillo, at 24, would be the perfect player to add to the squad. Also, the player already has experience at the top level – two seasons with Inter Milan.

Arsenal, though – the new entrants – could play spoilsport. The Gunners have recently switched to a back three, which further drives up their need for a quality central defender. Murillo has pace for days and could easily slot in on either side of the central player in the 3-man defence.

Murillo has been linked to other top clubs as well, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid all rumoured to be interested in the player at different times during the season. And while any of the aforementioned trio could reignite their interest in the player, Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester are the front-runners right now.

The battle is set to be an intriguing one, with the promise of regular football prospectively available at all three clubs in the summer. With his contract set to expire in 2020, Inter are likely to ask a sizeable fee for the 24-year-old. However, the asking price is unlikely to deter the clubs.

We could very well be seeing Murillo in the Premier League next campaign, if any of the three suitors manage to get their way.
