Manchester City will be without Bacary Sagna for the tie while there are still doubts over Victor Moses’ availability for Chelsea as both sides aim for victory.

Chelsea host Manchester City in a tie that could be crucial in both the Premier League title race as well as the top-four battle. A win for Manchester City could blow the title race wide open while any other result could affect City’s chances of a top-four finish.

Manchester City, though, will be without Bacary Sagna for the tie, with Pep Guardiola confirming the absence of the Frenchman for the Wednesday fixture.

Although, there was some positive news delivered by the boss, who said that Pablo Zabaleta was fit to play a part in the fixture while he hoped Gabriel Jesus would be able to return to action before the end of the season, having rejoined training on Monday.

“Bacary is out two or three weeks more. Pablo is okay. Yesterday is the first day he [Jesus] start to go to the pitch to run and walk. I don’t know exactly how many weeks he needs to come back but I think he is at the end of the part of his process to come back so we will see. Hopefully he can help us in the games at the end of the season.”

For Chelsea, Victor Moses missed Saturday’s game through injury and is still a doubt for the fixture. Conte admitted that the player will have his fitness assessed before the game in order to make a decision as to whether he will be fit for Manchester City game.

“I don’t know if Victor will be able to play tomorrow. We have another day to check the situation in the right way. We have a couple of situations to check and then make the best decision for the starting 11 tomorrow.”

The two teams go into the fixture, with great emphasis on outsmarting their opponents and while both the coaches took turns to appreciate each other’s squad and managerial ability, they are likely to pull out all stops in order to gain an advantage in the game on Wednesday, one which could very well decide the title race and the top-four battle.
