Arsenal have joined Chelsea and Manchester City in the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Kingsley Coman, according to reports

According to Tribal Football, Arsenal are tracking Kingsley Coman’s situation at Bayern Munich and are looking to sign the midfielder this summer, although they face a fight to sign the French midfielder with several parties interested.

They state that Arsenal have already made contact with Juventus over a deal for Coman but despite their claims, all of this will be dependent on whether or not Bayern Munich exercise the option they have to buy the midfielder outright from the Bianconeri, an offer which expires on April 30, 2017.

Bayern Chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated last month that Bayern Munich “expected” to keep the midfielder but having gone into the final month in which the offer is valid, there has been no news of any progress on a deal for the Frenchman.

Coman spent one year with Juventus having signed from Paris Saint-Germain, before joining Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal with the aforementioned option to buy. Despite the fact that he has managed only 6 starts in the Bundesliga this season, the 20-year old is still considered one of the best young prospects in the world.

In 13 appearances for the Germans this season, Coman has registered an average of 1.59 key passes, 1.59 chances created, an impressive 2.79 successful take-ons and an 85% pass completion rate per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga, according to Squawka.

His potential as well as the fact that he has struggled for game time have led to reports that several top clubs around Europe are showing an interest in signing him, with Manchester City and Chelsea said to be closely monitoring his situation.

Coman played under Antonio Conte when the Chelsea manager was at the helm of Juventus and given Conte’s trust in him at the time, it is no surprise to see that the Italian is keeping tabs on his former player.

Chelsea are on the lookout for additions to their squad as they look to compete on all fronts next season and Coman’s age as well as his obvious talent will fit right into Antonio Conte’s policy as well as his playing style.

The 20-year old also played under Pep Guardiola when the current Manchester City manager was in charge of Bayern Munich and Guardiola also showed a lot more trust in him than current Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Spanish tactician is an obvious admirer so it is no surprise that City are interested in signing Coman, especially given his age and the fact that City are looking to add some much-needed youth to their ranks.

Arsenal have long been linked with Coman with Arsene Wenger even admitting that he tried signing the Frenchman in the summer of 2014 and with the possible departures of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, the Gunners will definitely need reinforcements this summer.

However, Bayern Munich will also be keen to hold on to the prodigious youngster but should they fail to agree a deal with Coman by April 30th, we could easily see a huge battle for his signature this summer.
