Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a stunning summer swoop for highly-rated Barcelona wonderkid Carles Alena.
Spanish publication Don Balon are claiming that Real Madrid are showing interest in Carles Alena. The prodigious Barcelona star has been attracting attention from several top clubs. And it seems Los Blancos are ready to launch a summer bid in order to land the player, who is currently in talks with Barcelona over a new deal.
Carles Alena is a 19-year-old Spanish midfielder who is another one of the latest line of gems produced by the fabled La Masia academy. The player is now a regular for Barcelona B and has even made his debut for the senior side, albeit in the Copa del Rey, where he also ended up on the scoresheet, in a 1-1 draw against Hercules.
The midfielder is touted as one of the future superstars for not just Barcelona but Spain as well. He has already captained the Spanish Under-19 side, with 2 goals in 8 appearances for La Furia and looks destined to be a senior team member in the future, both for club and country.
However, his contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, which has brought forth interest from other clubs, who may be able to offer him a faster track to being a regular face in the first-team setup without necessarily being a heavy downgrade in terms of stature of the team.
Manchester United were reported to be scouting Alena, who has been hailed by many as the next Andres Iniesta and Barcelona would surely love for him to follow in Iniesta’s footsteps. However, Real Madrid’s entry into the picture may complicate things.

Real Madrid are reportedly keen to rejuvenate their squad in the summer, which could lead to some youthful arrivals, as Los Blancos have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe while also considering to bring back Jesus Vallejo to partner Sergio Ramos at the back.
Los Blancos are keen to add some wondrous talents to the squad and they have now targeted Alena. As per the report, the club has already held talks with the player’s family to scour for the opportunity of a potential move for the 19-year-old.
Alena is seen by many as a future senior Spanish international and Real Madrid would love to secure his signature, which would not only boost their Spanish core but could also set a precedent for future transfers.
Real, though, are likely to have stiff competition from other clubs. While thus far, only Manchester United had shown interest in the player, there are reportedly several clubs who would love to pounce on the opportunity of landing Alena, if the opportunity presents itself.
Given the current situation, it may just present itself sooner rather than later.
