Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Andrea Belotti and are set to rival other top European clubs for the Torino striker, as per reports.

According to reports from Italian outlet La Stampa, Bayern Munich are the latest club to join the race to sign Andrea Belotti. The Bundesliga heavyweights are now set to rival Manchester United, Real Madrid and other top European clubs for the signature of the Torino striker.

Andrea Belotti continues to rise in stature as the weeks wear on. The 2016/17 season has truly been the breakthrough campaign in his senior career, as the 23-year-old has established himself as a name to look out for in the future.

Numbers back those up as well, with Belotti scoring 17 goals while providing 4 assists in 21 Serie A games, thus having a direct contribution in a goal in every game on average. What’s more, at 107 minutes per goal, he has one of the best scoring rates in the Italian top flight, with just Gonzalo Higuain and Dries Mertens ahead of him.

With Belotti being in such imperious form for Torino this season, several clubs across Europe have taken notice of his incredible talents in front of goal. In fact, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move for the explosive youngster, and for some good reason.

With uncertainty surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium, combined with the inconsistencies of Olivier Giroud and the injury problems plaguing Danny Welbeck, Arsenal have been on the lookout for top strikers. And Belotti fits the bill perfectly, with his goalscoring record speaking for himself.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in a precarious situation with Diego Costa, and have been scouting prolific strikers should their talisman make a move away from Stamford Bridge. In fact, Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo also entered talks with Torino to sign Belotti on deadline day before the move failed to transpire.

Real Madrid also entered the race to sign Belotti earlier this month and have been reportedly prepared to meet his buy-out clause. With Karim Benzema struggling to match the highs of previous seasons and with Alvaro Morata seemingly out of favour with Zinedine Zidane, a player of Belotti’s talents seemed like the perfect fit.

Manchester United then became the latest club to be linked with Belotti, with Jose Mourinho impressed by the player’s talents. He is currently being eyed as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and could compete with Marcus Rashford to lead the Manchester United attack.

But, all of these European heavyweights are now set to be rivalled by Bayern Munich, with the report indicating that the Bavarian giants have already held preliminary talks with Torino over a possible move for “The Rooster” in the summer.

This comes as a surprise because Robert Lewandowski has been firing on all cylinders for Bayern since moving from Borussia Dortmund in 2014. But if signed, Belotti will only become one of the many big attacking names on Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.

So, the race to sign Belotti is hotting up and it could turn out into an all-out battle for the explosive, and highly talented striker. While his final destination might not be known, it is certain that any club willing to sign Belotti will have to shell out €100 million to acquire his services.
