Inter Milan are planning a sensational big money swoop to lure Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to San Siro in the summer, as per reports

Italian newspaper Tuttosport have reported in their frontage that Inter Milan are eyeing a shock big money swoop to land Chelsea manager Antonio Conte in the summer, with the Nerazzuri’s new Chinese owners ready to offer the Blues boss £13 million a year in order to bring him to San Siro.

Antonio Conte has been such a success story for Chelsea this season. Arriving at Stamford Bridge after a successful Euros with Italy, it had looked like he had a Himalayan task at his hands to turn things around at club full of deflated spirits after last season’s debacle of a Premier League title defence.

However, just eight months into his stint with Chelsea and Conte has well and truly turned things around, and how. The Blues have taken the league by storm after starting the season in a jittery fashion, and are now well on their way to clinching the Premier League title in a resounding fashion.

Their latest success story saw them hand Arsenal a thumping 3-1 loss at Stamford Bridge that marked just how far they’ve come since the disastrous 3-0 loss to the Gunners in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign, and they now lead the table by 9 points ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur hit their half century on Saturday.

It now looks like their his successes at Stamford Bridge this season have caught the attention of Italian giants Inter Milan, who have fallen on hard times in Serie A lately, ready to make a sensational swoop to bring Conte back to Italy.

The Nerazzuri were recently bought by the Suning group, and the new owners have ambitious plans to take the club back to the heights of the old glory days when they used to regularly challenge for the Serie A title.

The report states that the Chinese owners are ready to offer a £13 million a year package to Conte in order to prise him away from Chelsea, and will also provide an eye watering £350 million war chest to rebuild the Inter squad and make them a contender in Champions League.

The numbers are certainly big enough to turn the head of most top managers around Europe, not to mention their lofty ambitions which definitely are attractive.

However, for all intents and purposes, it looks highly unlikely that Conte will be willing to leave Chelsea any time soon, with his project at West London only in its initial stages. On top of that, Conte has a respectable legacy at Inter’s fierce rivals Juventus both as a player and a manager, and a move to San Siro will be shocking to say the least.

So, it doesn’t look likely that Conte is moving away from Chelsea any time soon, let alone to a club considered to be Juventus’ bitter rivals. It now remains to be seen whether the former Italy boss accepts the offer from Inter and sends shock waves across Europe.
