Celtic sensation Moussa Dembele reportedly prefers a move to either of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain over Chelsea.

SFR Sport journalist Sara Menai has sensationally revealed details of Chelsea’s pursuit of Celtic sensation Moussa Dembele. The journo iterated that the offer was below Celtic’s valuation and that the 20-year-old prefers a move to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain over the Blues.

Chelsea were linked with a deadline day move for Moussa Dembele with Antonio Conte seeking an addition to the firepower upfront at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were reported to have launched a bid of around the £30 million mark for the 20-year-old, one which was swiftly rejected by Celtic.

And with the transfer market coming to a close, Chelsea failed in the pursuit of the French sensation. And now Sara Menai has spilled the beans on the approach. The journo has revealed that Celtic were expecting and ready to do business around the £43 million mark, which meant Chelsea’s bid fell way short of expectation.

She did however, iterate that Dembele is more or less set to leave Celtic in the summer. But, it is the revelation along with it that may come as bad news for Chelsea. The journo stated in her tweet that the priority is Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain while failing to mention Chelsea’s name in it altogether.

The preference for Manchester United might be down to the presence of Paul Pogba at Old Trafford and perhaps the potential arrival of Antoine Griezmann combined with the prospect of playing under a manager as coveted as Jose Mourinho.

Paris Saint-Germain makes total sense, on the other hand. Lest we forget that Dembele was in fact a product of their academy and the Frenchman could relish the opportunity to go back to the club where his footballing journey started and prove himself.

Also, she revealed that Patrick Kluivert and Olivier Letang, directors at PSG, have established contact with Dembele’s agent this week over a potential summer transfer.

Another point that was made was that Moussa Dembele will not prefer a bench role and would only move if offered a primary first-team role at any club, Chelsea or otherwise.

Moussa Dembele’s stock has seen a meteoric rise, thanks to his menacing form for Celtic in both domestic and European competitions. The 20-year-old has been rightly linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG among many others.

But, it seems they all will now have to wait until the summer of 2017 to renew their interest in the player. Also, as per the report, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain do seem to have an upper hand over the other suitors, but it could all change by the time the transfer window re-opens.
