Hull City have reportedly tabled an initial bid for Angers winger Nicolas Pepe, who is a target for Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United as well.

As per an exclusive from French publication Le 10 Sport, Hull City have lodged an initial £10 million bid for Angers winger Nicolas Pepe. The winger has been linked heavily with a move to England, with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United credited with interest. But it looks like the Tigers are primed to steal a march on the others.

Olympique Marseille have also been strongly linked with a move for the player. They have recently announced the return of Dimitri Payet in a big money move from West Ham and seem to be in ecstasy. But Hull City’s advancements mean they have no time to rejoice lest they risk losing in the pursuit of the 21-year-old.

The player signed a contract extension at SCO Angers at the start of the 2016-17 campaign and has been one of the first names on the team sheet at the Ligue 1 club that is currently reeling towards the bottom half of the league table.

Nicolas Pepe has been courted by the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle and his performance against FC Metz will only pique the interest in the 21-year-old. The winger scored the winner in a 2-1 home win over FC Metz and it appears it may turn out to be his last goal for SCO Angers, if Hull City do have their way.

The report iterates that the Tigers have been made aware that they must bid higher for the 21-year-old, with SCO Angers valuing the player at the €10 million mark. Hull City are expected to come back with a revised and improved offer as new manager Marco Silva attempts to replace Robert Snodgrass, who joined West Ham United last week.

Everton have parted with Gerard Deulofeu and are looking to add to their wing department, while Liverpool are looking to add more depth within their ranks. Newcastle United were interested in the player as they seek upgrades on their current wing options, with Rafa Benitez aiming for instant promotion back to the top flight.

It will be interesting to see if Hull City’s approach force other interested parties into action. One thing is becoming more and more certain though. Pepe is likely to be on the move, be it Hull City or any other of the aforementioned clubs, and a move to England is more or less on the cards for the 21-year-old.
