Alvaro Morata feels cheated at Real Madrid and has asked to leave the club. Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly interested in acquiring his services

Spanish radio station Cadena SER have reported that Spain striker Alvaro Morata feels cheated at Real Madrid and has asked to leave the club in the summer if Zinedine Zidane continues at the helm at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The second coming at Real Madrid hasn’t gone as planned for Alvaro Morata. Los Blancos exercised their buy-back option in Morata’s contract with Juventus to bring the Spaniard back to the Santiago Bernabeu this past summer.

However, after a promising start to the season, when he started regularly in attack in the absence of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, things have gone pear-shaped for the 24-year-old. With Benzema and Ronaldo now fit and firing, Morata has had to suffice with a regular place on the bench.

The Spain international has managed to start just 10 games all season, even though he is scoring at an impressive rate for Real Madrid. Having played just 1148 minutes in attack so far, Morata has netted nine times and assisted a further four goals, scoring one every 127.6 minutes.

It now looks like Morata has finally grown frustrated at the lack of opportunities coming his way, and he feels cheated by Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane. That is because Morata refused the overtures of several clubs in the summer to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he believes the club has not kept their side of the bargain.

With push coming to shove, Morata has decided to leave Real Madrid if Zidane continues as coach of the club. He has now informed his agent to get in touch with clubs, and study offers coming their way to pave the way for his summer exit.

Spanish publication AS are now reporting that Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus are the three clubs that are interested in signing Morata.

Chelsea have already been linked with Morata this month, with Diego Costa’s situation with the Blues being so uncertain. If Morata’s international teammate decides to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, Chelsea’s interest in the 24-year-old could become more concrete.

Arsenal are also in a precarious situation with Alexis Sanchez currently embroiled in a contract standoff with the club. And even though Arsene Wenger has Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez to fall back on, replacing Sanchez, in case he leaves the club, will be a top priority for the Arsenal boss.

Juventus were rumoured to have been offered Morata in addition to £77 million to secure the services of Paulo Dybala earlier this month. However, with the Argentine edging closer to signing a new contract with the Bianconeri, it looks unlikely that they will make a move to bring Morata back to Turin.

It now remains to be seen where Morata heads in the summer, but as of now he looks to be on the way out of the Santiago Bernabeu having grown frustrated with warming the benches.
